Chevron Corporation is the world's fourth largest commercial oil company and is headquartered in San Ramon, California. The company is active in 180 countries and is one of the world's largest within oil refining and fuel selling. Chevron started back in 1879 as the Pacific Coast Oil Comapny. Later, in 1901, the company The Texas Fuel Company, now known as Texaco, was formed. In 2001, the companies Chevron and Texaco merged to become ChevronTexaco, but in 2005 the 'Texaco' was taken away, so that the company today is called Chevron Corporation.
