Snowy and Captain Haddock are Tintin's loyal companions. Haddock's ship is called Karaboudjan and in the beginning, he is constantly drunk. Later on he learns how to reduce his alcohol intake, although he still drinks too much of his favourite vice, whiskey, from time to time. He is clumsy and often gets into unfortunate situations.
