The character Peter Pan was created by the Scottish novelist J.M. Barrie. In the book "Peter and Wendy" (1911), Wendy and her two younger brothers meet Peter Pan, who brings them along to Never Land, where Peter is the leader of the gang "The Lost Boys". Peter's friend and helper is the tiny fairy Tinker Bell. Peter's arch-enemy, Captain Hook, also lives on the island. The trip is a real adventure with pirates, Indians and fairies.
