Who directed "Alien" from 1979?

Explanation

Ridley Scott has directed some of the highest-grossing Hollywood movies of all times. He had his first breakthrough in 1979 with "Alien", featuring Sigourney Weaver among others. He since had a string of successful movies, including "Blade Runner" from 1982. More recently, he was responsible for movies such as "Body of Lies", "Gladiator" and "Kingdom of Heaven," which takes place in Jerusalem during the Crusades. The main character in the latter was played by Orlando Bloom, who has worked with Ridley Scott before in the movie "Black Hawk Down", starring Josh Hartnett.
