What are "The Big Four" when it comes to the Eurovision Song Contest?

In year 2000 it was decided that the UK, Germany, France and Spain automatically qualify for the final. This is independent of their placemement in the contest the year before and because of the size of the population and the contribution to the overall European Broadcasting Union (EBU) budget. In 2011, Italy re-joined the Eurovision Song Contest, and The Big Four thus became "The Big Five".
