In which decade was the comic book Asterix first published?

Explanation

The comic book "Asterix" was created by René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo. 34 editions of Asterix have been published, some of which have since been animated. The title character Asterix is a small, clever warrior. He is friends with Obelix, whom Asterix often has to get out of harm's way, and has a dog called Dogmatix. The stories take place in a little village in Gaul, which the Romans are unable to conquer because of the Gauls' magic potion granting super strength. Asterix was first released in 1959.
