Which tiny insect lives by sucking blood from its host?

Explanation

Lice are wingless insects. They have sucking mouthparts used to suck the blood of humans and animals. Humans can get pubic lice, head lice and body lice. Maturing from egg to adult head lice takes 3-4 weeks on a human. A female louse produces 50-150 eggs in her life. After about a week the eggs hatch into larvae. The larva changes pupae three times before it becomes a louse. Lice feed on the blood of their host several times a day and can live for 4-6 weeks. They can survive 2-3 days without a host while their eggs can survive for up to 2 weeks.
