What is arachnophobia?

Explanation

Unlike social phobias, a specific phobia like arachnophobia is relatively easy to cure. It remains unsolved why some people develop this fear, but an explanation supported by evolutionary psychology is that phobias are an overreaction which goes back to our early ancestors. They often lived in dangerous environments and therefore, the people with the genes making them afraid of dangerous animals were the ones who survived and could continue the family line.
