He first studied political science and international relations at Columbia University and later law at Harvard University. Obama's father, Barack Hussein Obama, Sr was a Kenyan from the Luo tribe. Obama's mother, Ann Dunham was from Kansas. They met at the University of Hawaii, where both were studying. They married in 1961 and Obama was born in Hawaii the year after on 4th August.
